| spa |
dc.description.abstract | Introduction: To design intervention programs aimed at the prevention of occupational pathologies and health promotion; it is necessary to have instruments with psychometric properties that support diagnoses and guide strategic actions in health institutions. Method: a retrospective design was applied to assess the psychometrics properties of the Burnout inventory, with a non-probabilistic sample of 972 participants from the health area. The Burnout inventory consists of 22 items grouped in three factors: Emotional Exhaustion (EX), Depersonalization (DP), and Personal Accomplishment (PA). Results: Four structural measurement models are presented with adequate indicators of goodness of fit. DP and PA had inconsistent results with unacceptable composite reliability, although the EX factor was consistent and satisfactory. Most of the items did not exceed the factor loadings. The three measurement models based on confirmatory factor analysis and one exploratory showed a good fit, but the unsatisfactory values of mean-variance extracted and correlations between factor and items affect convergent and discriminant validity. Conclusions: The construct of Burnout theorized by Maslach in a trifactorial model does not show enough weight for its generalization to Colombian healthcare personnel. The inconsistencies found in the DP and PA in terms of reliability and validity, as a result the suggestion of adding and reviewing content evidence for Colombian culture is presented. It is recommended to conduct research to assess psychometric properties of instruments and if needed design new instruments adjusted to the Colombian context and perform this research in public and/or private institutions. | spa |
