| spa |
dc.description.abstract | The presents study focused on analyzing physical activity and sedentary behavior in 7th grade students at a school in Bogotá. The main motivation for the study was the low participation of students in physical activities during recess, evidencing a marked sedentary behavior characterized by the excessive use of technological devices such as cell phones, tablets, and computers. The main objective was to determine the level of physical activity in 7th grade students, considering the variables gender, body mass index (BMI), preferred type of activity and frequency of its execution, in order to formulate recommendations for the articulation with the transversal project of "Aprovechamiento del tiempo libre". It is expected that, from this study, a positive change can be generated in the habits of the students, promoting a more active and healthy lifestyle. A methodology was proposed with a qualitative approach and a descriptive scope with a phenomenological design. In this sense, hermeneutics is used because it leads us to make an interpretation and a reading of the reality in which the problem is happening. The PAQ-C questionnaire (Physical Activity Questionnaire for children) was used, which assesses the practice of physical activity in children from 8 to 14 years old in the last 7 days, which showed that the students have level 2 and low category in physical activity, concluding that the students under study do not comply with the recommended time to do physical activity according to the OMS (150 minutes a week) and consequently they can acquire a noncommunicable disease (diabetes, hypertension, cancer, among others). It was also possible to establish that students have more sedentary behaviors within the educational institution and that they choose group activities more than individual ones. | eng |
