dc.descriptionEste Proyecto de Intervención Educativa, se realizó en el Municipio de Bahía Solano, en su casco urbano, Ciudad Mutis y en el Corregimiento El Valle en el departamento del Chocó, se abordó desde la principal actividad ecoturística: el avistamiento de ballenas Jorobadas Megaptera novaenglia. Esta actividad ecoturística ha traído consigo prácticas que no contribuyen a una gestión responsable y de sostenibilidad que garanticen el bienestar migratorio y reproductivo de estos cetáceos, por parte de la tripulación de las lanchas que disfrutan del espectáculo (turistas o habitantes de la región). Diversas investigaciones han demostrado que las ballenas se estresan y en muchas ocasiones evitan las embarcaciones, esto genera en estos mamíferos desgaste energético, períodos de inmersión más prolongados y dificultad en la comunicación por el ruido de los motores. En corroboración a lo anterior, mediante conversaciones con los pescadores artesanales, durante el período de cuarentena por COVID-19, años 2020 y 2021, lapsos en los cuales no se presentó visita de turistas en la región, notaron que las ballenas jorobadas aumentaron en número, hubo mayor proximidad a la costa, su llegada fue a partir de junio y su estadía más prolongada, dichas situaciones se convirtieron en el foco de la problemática de este proyecto. Es así, como surge la necesidad de utilizar estrategias de socialización de recomendaciones generadas y guiadas por el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente y autoridades locales. Para la recolección de información y ejecución del proyecto se utilizará una metodología mixta, a su vez, se implementó la técnica de medición empírica mediante el instrumento guía de entrevista.spa
dc.description.abstractThis Educational Intervention Project was carried out in the Municipality of Bahía Solano, in its urban area, Ciudad Mutis and in the Corregimiento El Valle in the department of Chocó, addressed from the main ecotourism activity: the sighting of Humpback whales Megaptera novaenglia. This ecotourism activity has brought with it practices that do not contribute to proper management responsible and sustainable that guarantee the migratory and reproductive well-being of these cetaceans, by the crew of the boats that enjoy the show (tourists or inhabitants of the region). Various research has shown that whales become stressed and On many occasions they avoid boats, this causes wear and tear on these mammals. energetic, longer immersion periods and difficulty in communication due to noise of the engines.
