Sede Bogotá., ) Tapias Rodríguez, Francy Stella; Herrera Vargas, Esteban; Zabaleta García, Xilena; Daza Piragauta, JavierThe application of ICT in teaching implies the mobilization of a diversity of strategies and methodologies that favor active, participatory and constructive learning. This project is about a research in which the work team conducting the research activities considered relevant to share some initial outcomes in "Reinforcement of English learning in Classroom 2 Year* 6 at Institución Educativa Gimnasio del Calima by means of use of VLO (Virtual Learning Object)". The main objective is to determine the incidence of use of VLO in the English learning process. The qualitative research was conducted after choosing the action- research methodology in order to identify a specific context and aiming at improving educational practices by understanding, studying and finding out the best steps to improve such practices in teaching. 35 6th grade students of the Group 02 (21 female and 14 male) were assessed using the surveys designed for the research, consisting of a pre-test questionnaire created by the team of researchers to determine the English proficiency level of every student in the classroom setting; a survey to see how many students handle the VLO along with 8 workshops that included technological tools and virtual learning objects; and a post-test evaluation that evaluates the incidence of the use of VLO in the learning process. The survey findings were accordingly recorded in classroom observations, and the answers to the pre-test questionnaires gave an insight of the most difficult topics in the learning experiences to the students. Workshops to follow up and improve the understanding of these topics were created, and the procedures taken into account in these workshops supported by the use of virtual learning objects were logged in the classroom observation entries to help with the development of autonomous learning.
