Sede Bogotá., ) Vega Bohórquez, Ángela Patricia; Villamarín Campo, María Del Carmen; Reyes Romero, VladimirThis research project aimed to recover the ancestral knowledge of myths and legends of the Municipality of Timbío-Cauca in the 9th grade of the I. E. Social Promotion, through the artistic practice based on the Carlos Jacanamijoy Indigenous Painter. In turn, the theoretical framework was developed from three axes of analysis such as: oral tradition, myths and legends and the artistic trend based on the Carlos Jacanamijoy Indigenous Painter. This research project, based on the methodology of the IAP (Participatory Action Research), had as sample 17 9th grade students of the I.E. Social Promotion of Timbío, Cauca, where surveys were applied to students, teachers and parents, in order to develop an intervention proposal that aimed to discover and recognize the myths and legends Timbíanos, through artistic practice based on the Indigenous Painter Carlos Jacanamijoy. The intervention proposal had three didactic units that included twelve activities, which were executed and evaluated in terms of progress and results obtained, with the purpose of fulfilling the main objective of the research project, concluding with conclusions and recommendations according to the trajectory of its implementation and the impact it had on the educational community of the Educational Institution for Social Promotion of Timbío-Cauca.
