Sede Bogotá., ) Palacios, Carmen Emira; Triana Reyes, Ferney; Castro Montaña, Jhonn Edgarn this investigation, an analysis is made of the importance of teaching biological ethnobotanical ancestral knowledge, to enrich the biological knowledge acquired by secondary school students, especially in capital cities. Emphasis is placed on the intercultural approach to teaching biology, which consists of making visible and recognizing biological ancestral knowledge that exists in certain territories and cultures, in this case, Chocoana ethnobotany. Methodologically, the qualitative interpretive approach is used, with the strategy of documentary analysis of texts and articles on interculturality in the teaching of biology and analysis of the effects on intercultural education of Eduardo Mortimer's conceptual profile theory. It was taken as a population and it shows 59 ninth grade students from the Fabio Lozano Simonelli school in Bogotá, to whom a survey was applied to know the level of knowledge they had of some plant species of the Chocó ethnobotany.
