Sede Bogotá., ) Suta López, Martha Liliana; Sánchez Rojas, Cesar AugustoDeforestation is an environmental problem that afflicts society in the world, it is estimated that in 2020 "the tropics lost 12.2 million hectares of tree cover" (Global Forest Review., 2021), for the construction of houses, the expansion of the agricultural frontier, cattle raising and obtaining raw materials. In Colombia, the Amazon does not escape this scourge, because according to IDEAM in 2020 deforestation grew in the national territory by 8%, with 109,302 hectares of tropical forests and forests being deforested in one year, 11 thousand hectares more than in the previous year. 2019. This project aims to raise awareness among the students of the IED José Acevedo y Gómez in relation to this problem through a teaching sequence designed from the CTSA approach, entitled ECOnociendo mi localidad, which shows the incidence of deforestation in the hills Oriental Bogotanos, who have a presence in the town of San Cristóbal. This awareness is made through the presentation of videos, news, a simulated case, role play, visits to the forest reserves in the area and the construction of a virtual booklet that allows the recognition of the flora of the region, hoping that the educational community appropriates its territory and works to protect it. It is expected that, through this sequence of teaching related to this problem, the eleventh grade students of this institution will be able to establish relationships Science, Technology, Society and Environment, as it is a socio-scientific issue that requires the use of scientific knowledge and technological.
