This presumes a process of gathering information and rational selection of alternatives; however, there are biases and paradigms that keep investors away from this behavior. Such is the case of investment in the purchase of a home through mortgage credit, in which not all the information pertinent to this financial instrument is being taken into account, but rather a high return on real estate and low risk are anticipated. Reality that has been glimpsed during the crisis caused by COVID-19, where different economic indicators have been affected but the indebtedness of the housing market continues to increase. That is why in this article the behavior of investment in home purchase through mortgage credit in Colombia was analyzed using an error correction model with which evidence was obtained
