Sede Bogotá., ) Saavedra Suárez, María del Pilar; Guzmán Orjuela, Rita CristinaThe next project raises an intervention proposal to strengthen reading comprehension in five- and six-years old students on the level of transition. In reading comprehension there are several shortcomings like: Deficiencies in decoding, memory problems, vocabulary poverty, difficulties understanding the meaning of words when students are listening to readings, according to the context and lack of motivation, which can be corrected from initial education. In this case the proposal consists on strengthen reading comprehension, through the reading of children's stories by Colombian writers: Yolanda Reyes and Ivar Da Coll. Strategies oriented towards meaningful reading comprehension are proposed. The methodology is based on meaningful learning and the proposal of conceptual pedagogy, with a qualitative approach and an action research design (AR). The instruments used are: observation records and semi-structured interviews. These instruments were Made by two academic peers (Doctor and doctoral candidate). The research was developed in four phases: formulate, design, execute and close. In the first shortcomings are characterized, in the second the instruments are elaborated and the proposal is proposed, in the third the didactic sequence is implemented. Finally, the data collection is carried out and the information obtained is triangulated which gives rise to the discussion of results, conclusions and recommendations.
