- ÍtemTratamiento informativo del suicidio y uso de las recomendaciones de la OMS para su prevención en el programa de Séptimo DíaSalazar Rodríguez, Laura; Romero Lombana, Laura Camila; Palacios Chavarro, Janneth ArleyThe present work, intends to analyze the informative treatment of the content of the programs of Seventh Day transmitted in the years 2014 and 2018 where it tackles the topic of the suicide, in this occasion it is important to establish if the program fulfills the recommendations of the WHO, which affirm that the mass media and the journalists play an important role to inform in a responsible way this problematic that affects every year to 800. 000 people around the world. The specific objectives were to determine the characteristics of the content of the programs, to analyze the language, image and plans used, how the information is treated and to determine if this program complies with WHO guidelines. On the other hand, the methodology consisted of a qualitative approach, of the analyticaldescriptive research type, where the techniques of observation and analysis of content are used; the corpus is constituted by the Seventh Day programs that talk about suicide. As a part of this process, we realized a structured interview in order to know the program production from one of the most popular journalist. Finally, an analysis is made of the different dimensions with their respective variables that help to identify the informative approach given to the three programs. The results obtained in the research emphasize the treatment of the content, images and sound used in each program and also some factors that are highlighted. It details the level of compliance of each program with WHO recommendations, which were paramount in tablishing what is failing the journalist and program team to address and transmit this type of issues.
