Sede Bogotá., ) Rojas Hernández, Carolina; Flórez Huertas, Nelson EnriqueThis intervention proposal arises from detecting a low level of critical thinking in students in grades 9th, 10th and 11th of the Instituto de Enseñanza Personalizada I.D.E.P. A low level was identified from the results of the State of Knowledge tests 11th, 2018, in the aspect of critical reading, as well as the lack of rational criteria observed when choosing the student spokesperson. Therefore, a pedagogical strategy from the subject of English is proposed, where the opportunity is seen to contribute to the development of critical thinking in these students, through playfulness. As critical thinking is understood the ability to analyse a situation or a problem from the information obtained from different sources, and then understand the situation or problem from different points of view and adopt a position of its own, based on arguments that support it from the rationality the position adopted. Five playful activities were designed and applied to achieve reflection and analysis of situations that were found in a song, a short film, a visual music activity, the history of Robin Hood, and the analysis of a hypothetical political candidate through a role-play. These different activities allowed students to develop the analysis from different points of view, recognize the different postures or ways of thinking of others, question their procedure in hypothetical cases and argue their answers, opinions or thoughts from justified arguments, as well how to understand the importance of decisions and actions rather than for their own benefit, for the benefit of the community or society.
