Sede Bogotá., ) Burbano Rivera, Mónica Sayde; Rodríguez Arboleda, María Yolima; Mancera Baquero, JennyferThird grade students of the El Túnel Cajibio Cauca Educational Institution, whose ages range between seven and eight years old, present deficiencies in terms of reading comprehension of different texts, thus evidencing the difficulty in carrying out activities proposed in different subjects, which also has an impact on low academic performance; deficiencies also derived from difficulties at the reading level, in terms of syllabication when reading, not recognizing and internalizing punctuation marks, and therefore not understanding what they read. At the level of the teaching-learning process, it is fundamental the appropriation of reading as a pedagogical tool, in the different fields of knowledge, and complementary to this reading-writing process, reading comprehension is the central axis of significant learning, hence it is important to strengthen it, incorporating innovative methodologies and ludic-pedagogical strategies, which contribute to improve academic performance and enhance the development of communicative skills in Grade Three students.
