Sede Bogotá., ) Rivera Franco, Olga Cristina; Solano Barliza, Andres David; Cuervo Gamboa, Luz MarinaThe intervention proposal focuses on the development of digital competence in a transversal manner in the students of La Universidad de La Guajira and La Universidad San Buenaventura Cali, due to the need that institutions have had to assume with the social changes that technology has brought; these significant transformations have had to be included in the curricular plans, however, research on the digital competencies of higher education students show deficiencies in the competencies of young people in the use and management of ICT (2004; Ballano and Muñoz, 2010). For this reason, the Universidad De San Buenaventura Cali and the Universidad de la Guajira have developed a course for the training and development of digital competence in first year students covering all dimensions of it from the learning methodology based on challenges; the objective of the project was to develop from a guided structure with workspaces that allowed to give a challenge to students where they could develop digital competence in a comprehensive and interdisciplinary way. To achieve this, a diagnosis was made to identify their level of digital competence and a learning path based on challenges was built for the 16 class weeks of the semester that accompanies the teaching-learning process until the competence is achieved
