In many cases, the major adults end up by livinginstitutions that have to tend for the care of hishealth. To attend with quality to this population must be an intention to expiring on the part of the institutions that receive them, this notion needs to be evaluated from the perspective of the major adult and of the medical welfare personnel, principal actors inside the care. Bv There was realized an investigationthat tries to realize of the factors that intervene in the quality notion of life from the perspective of the major adult and of the medical welfare personnel of the Foundation Gerontológica My Second Home. This one is an investigationof qualitative, descriptive and transverse type, and he possessed the participation of 10 major adults and four professionals in the area of the health. For the analysis of information, there was in use the software NVivo.The actors converge in considering that factors as: the interpersonal relations, functionality, satisfaction of basic needs and material well-being, they are necessary to have a favorable notion on the quality of life; but they differ in the valuation that they give him to the autonomy, the social incorporation the personal development, as determinant factors. One concludes that the factors that more influence the quality perception of the life of the major institutionalized adult, from hisperspective are: the interpersonal relations, the emotional well-being, and physical well-being. In relation to the welfare personnel, the most important factor is emotional well-being.
