Sede Bogotá., ) Panza Ospino, Merly de los Milagros; Ibáñez Velandia, Aura YanethCurrently one of the strongest tendencies is the conservation of the environment. In Colombia, there have been some efforts made to promote strategies from the framework of environmental education to recover and protect what is wasted daily. However in I.E. Villa Campo in Malambo the non-existent separation of the generated residues, the lack of environmental awareness about the proper management of them and the accumulation due to a poor recollection service favor the rise of disease vectors that affect the members of the school community, in addition to the contamination due to bad smells from the decomposition that increases gas emitions. Under this premise, this paper offers an intervention proposal that focuses on the design of educational strategies for the integral management of solid residue for the I.E Villa Campo. The investigation guideline Globalization and Sustainable Development established by Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores, frames this proposal because ultimately it looks to foster environmental education and conservation on the lookout for sustainability, by means of the reduction of solid waste and proper handling of them. This proposal incorporates programs of: minimization of waste, separation, storage, gathering and internal transport, treatment, valorization and final disposal to further the application of the 3R strategy (reduction, reuse and recycle). It’s expected to guide solid waste management within the school.
