Sede Bogotá., ) Ortiz Prieto, Diego Alberto,; Benavides Bernal, María del Carmen;; Sáchica Cepeda, Leidy CristinaThis research work entitled Resignification of reading and writing in fourth grade students through art, articulated to the line of research of pedagogies, didactics and childhoods of the Faculty of Education of the Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores, aims to develop a didactic strategy based on literature workshops mediated by slogans and dynamics of different artistic languages (music, literature, plastic arts, dance) that enhance the training of writers and readers in the classroom. Part of the assumption that the poor performance of girls and boys in fourth grade, of the Nueva Colombia IED school. located in the town of Suba, in its reading comprehension and textual construction skills, it is first due to the traditional approach to language teaching that is linked to grammatical emphasis; and second, the way literature is approached in the Spanish language class. To verify the above, a survey of reading habits, an assessment of reading comprehension and the results of the Saber test carried out by the Icfes were analyzed. Subsequently, the literature workshops were designed that are part of the didactic strategy. These workshops have the novelty that they use artistic languages as an intermediation in the readingwriting process in the methodology of the slogan writing workshop.
