Sede Bogotá., ) Muñoz Collazos, Mónica; Sánchez, Cesar AugustoThe school garden has been highly implemented in institutions in rural and urban contexts for the teaching and learning processes, in this sense, the disciplinary intervention proposal is proposed based on the characterization of the context in the Institución Educativa Nueva Generación, Palo Sembrado of La Sierra Cauca, in which numerous environmental problems such as monocultures, illicit crops and the lack of environmental culture stand out. To address them, this proposal proposes designing a didactic unit through the implementation of school gardens as a strategy to promote environmental culture in fifth grade students of the Educational Institution. This strategy is developed in three phases that address the construction of the school garden with the educational community and the identification of their contributions for the construction of the didactic unit, together with the implementation of it with the students, and the analysis of their contributions in the promotion of environmental culture. This, through the qualitative research methodology, the Social Critical research approach, and the institutional line: globalization and sustainable development due to its relevance to research. The design of this didactic unit will allow knowing the scope of this strategy to contribute from the educational field to environmental conservation, in the search for the promotion of environmental culture in the new generations
