Sede Bogotá., ) Mosquera Benítez, Yensy Yirley; Gusman Orjuela, Rita CristinaThis study gathers the qualitative results of the research process aimed at strengthening through a pedagogical proposal the education in social competencies (specifically in cooperation and values) in the children of the Perlas del Pacífico Children's Home in the Municipality of Bajo Baudó - Pizarro, recognizing the importance of the processes of emotional strengthening and development of such competencies on the part of the student. It is essential to understand the strong incidence that violent contexts have on the coexistence of students in absolutely all the educational instances of the territory. Thus, the structured methodology of the study is of qualitative approach and non-experimental cross-sectional design. The qualitative approach and analytical type of research par excellence of those who are concerned with the understanding of meanings (observe, listen and understand). It requires a rigorous systematization of the different techniques and instruments that make up the methodological heritage and, therefore, a great knowledge of the theory The sample is determined by the teachers and parents of the Hogar Infantil Perlas del Pacifico. A survey was applied for the analysis of the information. The results show a strong incidence of work oriented to the strengthening of affection in the development of socio-affective competence in children, since many parents do not have control in the upbringing and formation of their children because most of them remain most of the time outside the home, in other situations which generates displacing the responsibility of upbringing to mothers or close relatives where the normative patterns turn out to be in some cases inadequate, also present is the type of single-parent family, whose head of household is usually the mother; This is due in some cases to the fact that the father seeks job opportunities in other countries or cities in Colombia, either in legal or illegal activities, or because the father has died as a result of internal violence in the territory.
