Because virtual reality will become solutions for human needs, such simulations must be reliable and accurate. The present document reflects the fidelity of a numerical analysis validating results of experimental tests carried out years ago in a wind tunnel on an aerodynamic profile. In this process, understanding the physical principles of turbulence and proper modeling of the turbulent tensor is absolutely necessary because there are different paths to follow and this is where much of the success lies. The model chosen for the validation was the SST k-w after understanding its legacy of averaged equations and its foundation in the Boussinesq assumption, added to terms such as the transport equation for turbulent kinetic energy, the mixing functions and closing coefficients. Throughout this validation process, understanding how the numerical method of finite volume works and the management of algebraic equations, is also key to avoiding the use of the computational tool as a black box that delivers results with errors or inaccuracies that undermine confidence in the quality of the analysis performed
