The strategy is a term used since ancient times in the military and war fields; However, nowadays strategy has been adapted to the business environment, evolving to “strategic planning”. Terms such as mission, vision, values, beliefs and imperatives, are widely used by the top management of large, medium and even small businesses. In the particular case of the city of Cartagena, in Mamonal sector there are companies that opted for strategic planning in order to achieve the redefinition of their objectives and their reason to be as a company, but if these changes are not handled properly its influence in the organizational culture may not be as positive as expected.
