Sede Bogotá., ) Hurtado Rivera, Viviana; Lozano, Martha Isabel; Medina Velandia, Lucy NohemyWhen reading, it is not only important to have a good pronunciation, tone of voice and fluency, reading comprehension must be considered an essential factor, which allows the person to assimilate and understand each word read, obtaining new knowledge that gradually enriches their knowledge while passing through the world of letters Starting from this premise, from the research and teaching activity arises the objective of developing a pedagogical strategy that uses gamification as a technique to improve the reading comprehension of the students of the 5th grade of basic primary of the Educational Institution José María Córdoba in the Municipality of Jamundí-Valle of Cauca. This is qualitative research, in which an action-research design was adopted for its development, where participant observation, reading comprehension diagnosis and surveys aimed at 25 children were used as data collection techniques. students of the 5th grade of basic primary of said Educational Institution, as well as their parents and teachers, whose results and analysis allowed the socialization and awareness within the educational community, about the difficulties and shortcomings that these students present in terms of reading comprehension, in order to design, through the use of technological tools and through gamification, a pedagogical strategy that generates progress in the reading comprehension of these students, increasing their motivation, disposition, interest and participation in school activities.

Sede Bogotá., ) Hurtado Rivera, Viviana; Lozano, Martha Isabel; Diosa García, AlejandroThis work proposal arises from the need that has been generated through the direct observation of the researchers' students for four years at the José María Córdoba Educational Institution, which has two headquarters in the village of Timba -Valle, a flat rural area and two more offices in the upper rural area of Jamundí Valle del Cauca. Students find it difficult to follow the instructions given to develop a proposed activity or, failing that, understand and understand a proposed text, therefore, they must be repeated several times until an instruction is understood, likewise, within the classroom There are students above the average age for the course to which they belong, and students with Special Educational Needs also attend the institution. The proposal involved the participation of teachers, parents and students, a qualitative research was carried out with an action research approach, since the reality that was investigated was also intervened to contribute to the improvement of a specific reality, and the research teachers were involved in said intervention, which was carried out using gamification as a pedagogical strategy to improve the reading and writing processes in the fifth grade students of said institution.
