Sede Bogotá., ) González González, Claudia Patricia; Ramos Portocarrero, Fredy; Cuervo Gamboa, Luz MarinaThe present investigation was proposed as a general objective to strengthen reading skills from the use of discontinuous texts for the improvement of reading comprehension, taking into account the literal and inferential levels in the ninth-grade students of the educational institution Normal Superior Nuestra Señora de Las Mercedes in the municipality of Zarzal Valle del Cauca. The specific objectives of the study meet each of the phases proposed from the initial diagnosis, the design and implementation of the didactic strategy and the evaluation of the scope of the pedagogical proposal that was verified with the exit diagnostic test. The findings found show that using different textual typologies such as discontinuous texts through different didactic strategies favorably impacts classroom work and positive results are evident in academic, attitudinal and motivational aspects.
