- ÍtemCondiciones de pobreza en el departamento del Chocó: Un análisis de la gestión de los recursosMárquez Mejía, Norwin; Gómez Caicedo, Melva InésPoverty is a condition that has affected the quality of life of many people in the world. In Colombia, although various policies have been implemented aimed at mitigating the adverse effects that arise, there are still departments in which situations involving aspects related to education, health, housing, among others are evident. One of the departments in which an increase in income inequality is evident is Chocó. Despite having a diversity of natural resources, it has been lagging behind the development that occurs in other regions of the country. A different panorama is what is found in Chocó, given that the economic factor for the inhabitant becomes a fundamental element of their survival, but the absence of contract regulation is one of the main causes of the economic imbalance that arises. - ÍtemEstrategias didácticas para la conservación y protección de la microcuenca El Burro: Un enfoque participativo(Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores. Sede Bogotá., ) Murillo Montoya, Sergio Adrian; Gómez Caicedo, Melva InésAccess to good quality water service is one of the main problems faced by rural communities in Colombia and, among other reasons, is due to low educational levels and an environmental policy that does not reach the territories or, on the contrary, it has little applicability in those contexts. In the case of the El Burro micro-basin (Victoria, Caldas), the aqueduct is managed by a Local Administrative Board and does not have the minimum requirements for its operation, it does not even have a water concession. Given this scenario and due to the decrease in environmental flow by 80%, the objective of this research is to promote environmental habits through a didactic strategy that leads to forms of sustainable use for this resource. For this, a qualitative and exploratory research was proposed, which is based on the principles of participatory action research. In the investigation, the 152 users who are registered in the association statutes of the aqueduct were taken as the population under study. Likewise, for the development of the work, several instruments were taken into account for the collection and analysis of data. Initially, a diagnostic survey was carried out in which the actors that are part of the micro-basin and their perspectives on water resources were recognized. For the population in question, a sample was calculated that corresponded to 44 surveys, which were carried out in the different sectors that make up the micro-basin.
- ÍtemEstudio de factibilidad para la oferta de educación superior en el municipio de Calarcá, Quindío(Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores. Sede Bogotá., ) Vega García, Israel; Gómez Caicedo, Melva InésTo provide university, college and technological education services in the towns where there are not any universities is a chance to improve people’s life conditions, by offering development opportunities with relevant programs for the local and regional characteristics and needs. This way, firstly, it is necessary to carry out feasibility studies that determine the region’s technical conditions in economic, social, and educational terms, under a descriptive investigation, with a mixed approach, and investigation units as the research population. Secondly, this project suggests the use of diverse research techniques and instruments so as to triangulate the information obtained from the calculated samples. In the data analysis, it was possible to identify that the educational community, industrial and commercial sectors, and the economic traits of the region fit the requirements of higher education institutions. Likewise, it was possible to notice that 96.7% of students want to undertake higher education majors in areas, such as languages, psychology, business administration, tourism, gastronomy, commerce, and computing science, through an onsite methodology and at a professional level. Analysis units 1 and 2 are in agreement with the fact that these majors’ fees should not surpass the minimum Colombian wage, not even lower prices; equally, there are other expected benefits to be highlighted from the community comments, such as low enrollment fees, transport costs decrease, and the relevance of the academic programs. All in all, this study shows that there is a great opportunity for higher education institutions, mayoral services, and local governments to establish higher education services in the places that fulfill the economic, social, and educational requirements, so that they contribute to the improvement of these people’s life conditions

- ÍtemIncidencia entre la tasa de criminalidad, violencia y su relación con el crecimiento económico de Colombia (2000-2016)(Fundación Universitaria Los Libertadores. Sede Bogotá., ) Lugo Ortega, Eduardo Luis; Flórez Bolaños, Jaime; Gómez Caicedo, Melva Inésresearch work focused on the growth theory developed by Hofstetter (1998) , which incorporated the costs of violent crimes and their implications for Colombia's economic growth. It is intended to provide a broad view on the issue of crime and the impact of this variable on economic development at the departmental level for the years 2000 and 2016, taking into account that Colombia is a country that has experienced an armed conflict for more than half a century, which has had repercussions on the country's economy. An econometric panel model was proposed, which allows examining and exposing the incidence of the crime rate and violence, and the impact of these variables on economic growth in Colombia at the departmental level. The crime rate reflected by the homicide rate per 100 thousand inhabitants, the employment rate, the total number of students enrolled per department per year, the poverty rate, the GDP rate per department, and the variable armed conflict will be included. that it would be represented by the totality of attacks to civilians by the FARC, and thus be able to have a model that can explain in the best way the incidence of these variables in the economic growth in Colombia, especially the homicides and the variable armed conflict.
