The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between perceptual channels, cognitive abilities and academic performance in students of the Los Libertadores University Foundation. The methodology revolves around the mixed approach with a treatment of descriptive statistical data, using a sample of 56 students enrolled in the Bachelor programs in Child Pedagogy, Business Administration and Industrial Engineering; to whom the VARK test is applied, the revision of the syllabus and learning guides developed for the courses that are representative for each academic program, as well as the students' academic results, is carried out. The above information was collected and analyzed by means of a matrix, allowing to establish a correlation between the student's perceptual channel, the cognitive abilities defined for the courses, and the academic performance obtained by the student. As a result, it is established that there is a correlation between the variables proposed in this research, being able to conclude that the perceptual channels are determinant in the academic success of the students; which if potentized would allow to reduce the academic desertion, as well as to avoid the exhaustion in the academic process when determining a profile of entrance according to the perceptual channel of the aspirants to the different programs offered by the Los Libertadores University Foundation.
