Sede Bogotá., ) Forero López, Daniel Ferney,; Forero Cárdenas, Daniel Fernando;; Mendoza, CarlosInnovating and complementing the laboratories of the Los Libertadores University Foundation in order to improve the practices and make the learning of all the students of the institution more didactic, is a task that is constantly being done for mutual benefit. In carrying out this task, it was determined to design, calculate and simulate a mold and vacuum thermoforming machine that meets the basic needs of functionality and that in the event of being built, provide a quality service to all students of both engineering programs like other careers of the University. This thesis describes the way in which the project to design said machine is developed, from its calculation, analyzing various construction alternatives in terms of dimensions, materials, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic systems and their operation, to simulation and elaboration of a user manual where its operation and maintenance are discriminated step by step. Similarly, the different types of thermoforming existing with description, advantages and disadvantages are mentioned. Much of the report is dedicated to the theoretical framework and everything related to plastic processing, taking a tour of the different processes and of course explaining each of its characteristics. A good number of tables, graphs and images in general, complement the theory and facilitate the interpretation of everything recorded in such a way that at the time of reviewing its content it is easy to find a logical traceability that begins with the introduction and the objective of the project, and ends with the design of the device
