Sede Bogotá., ) Espitia Sáez, Lina Marcela; Ramírez Moreno, Laura Milena; Ángel Moreno, Augusto JoséICT mediated education has become a challenge to motivate, enrich and activate thought processes and give a different orientation in the teaching and learning process, therefore, it is necessary to implement and evaluate the pedagogical and technological tools in favor of the effectiveness of knowledge construction. The purpose of this study was to improve the learning of English as a second language and the development of the different competences and abilities through the Challenge-based learning (CBL) approach, by using the Be the 1 Challenge app, which will allow us to know the levels of understanding and its efficiency in the educational context. This study is characterized as qualitative with two types of structured instruments for observation and analysis of the results under a survey study, which demonstrates the implementation of ICTs to improve and provide quality education in English language teaching and learning.
