Sede Bogotá., ) Díaz García, María Paz; Danna Buitrago, Jenny PaolaThe objective of this study titled ninth grade teaching and learning styles at the Simón Bolívar educational institution in Planeta Rica, Córdoba, aims to determine what teaching styles have teachers and what learning styles have ninth grade students from the Simón educational institution Bolívar from the municipality of Planeta Rica, Córdoba, with the purpose of proposing methodological strategies for the teaching and learning process. The study had as theoretical foundation: the learning styles model of Kolb (1984); the learning styles proposed by Alonso, Honey and Gallego (2000) and the teaching styles of Martínez (2002). A qualitative, action research, descriptive, correlational approach was used, the method of which was content analysis. As techniques to collect the information, the CEE and CHAEA tests were used using the CEE Teaching Styles Questionnaire. Chiang, et al (2013).; CHAEA Junior Learning Styles Questionnaire. Gallego and Sotillo (2013). These instruments were applied to 20 ninth grade students and 7 teachers of the same grade of different genders and ages. The results show that the Functional teaching style predominates, especially in the areas of English, critical reading and mathematics. However, in natural sciences and technology the Formal style predominates. The same does not happen in the area of social sciences that the predominant teaching style is Open, favoring the Active learning style. It was determined that the predominant students' learning styles are pragmatic and active, with a very high presence for the first and moderate for the second. Regarding the variables of age and gender and their relationship with learning styles, the results indicate that there is no direct relationship between learning styles and gender and age.
