Following a descriptive methodology with a mixed research approach, with a qualitative nested embedded concurrent design of the dominant model (DIAC), the vocational orientation process in the San José Educational Institution was inquired about, as well as the knowledge and family aspects that affect the decision making of 10th grade students. The results obtained through the application of a survey and interview show that from the curricular plan there is no programming that articulates the research topic with the subjects taught, that strengthens knowledge and skills in students towards vocational guidance, more than 50% of them its future projection is not clear, considering activities articulated with ICT tools where the student self-regulates his learning and becomes aware of his cognitive and socio-affective processes.
