Sede Bogotá., ) Vanegas Julio, Nuris; Jiménez Carabalí, Luz Edy; Cardenas Jaimes, ShirleyThis research sought to answer the following question: How to strengthen reading comprehension and textual production in sixth grade students of the Institución Etnoeducativa Afrocolombiana La Anunciación? According to Solé and Cassany, reading comprehension refers to the ability to understand and extract meaning from a written text. It involves the interpretation, analysis and comprehension of the ideas presented in the reading material. Textual production refers to the ability to generate and express ideas in writing in a coherent and effective manner. It involves the planning and organization of content, the appropriate use of linguistic resources, the structuring of paragraphs and the application of writing standards. The general objective of this study was to strengthen the reading comprehension and textual production of sixth grade students of the Afro-Colombian Ethno-educational institution La Anunciación in Cali, Valle del Cauca. We sought to respond to the problem of difficulties in reading comprehension and textual production observed, through the implementation of an innovative, creative and diversified pedagogical proposal. This situation is not only observed worldwide and nationally, but also locally, awakening the interest of many researchers who have carried out works related to this topic. The research had a proactive, transformative scope and was applied to a sample of 39 students. An initial pedagogical assessment and interviews were used, which revealed difficulties in: lack of interest in reading, lack of verbal fluency, difficulties in understanding communicative purposes and relationship with the context, and lack of vocabulary. It is expected that the pedagogical proposal "The power of words awakening minds, creating worlds, an approach to reading comprehension and textual production" will strengthen these processes in students. Promoting the identification of key ideas, use of linguistic resources and structuring of writings to build relevant knowledge for the educational community.
