The shock tunnels are made up of different parts that fulfill essential functions for the development of a test. One of the fundamental components of a shock tunnel is the divergent converging nozzle which is responsible for controlling the speed of a flow as necessary to perform the test. When conducting a background investigation of the shock tunnels we were able to find that currently in the field of research in Colombia the existence of these tools is null, therefore the purpose of this degree project is to conceptually design a convergent divergent area nozzle variable, which provides a higher ease of handling than the other divergent converging nozzles found in commercial shock tunnels.
