Sede Bogotá., ) Triviño Orduz, Juan Manuel;; Cárdenas, GuillermoThis degree work offers a perspective in relation to the transformation that journalism has undergone in recent years, as a result of the appearance of the microblogging service, a service that allows users to publish and receive short messages, created in 2006 called Twitter, a network that allows hundreds of millions of users to follow and send text messages to friends, acquaintances, public figures, companies, among others, messages not exceeding 140 characters, better known as Tweets. Currently, this social network has taken a lot of strength in the journalist's trade, to the point that most of the media have defined a space only for news that comes and emits through this communication tool. To show this great change, through a collection of information on archaic journalism, prior to the arrival of ICT information and communication technologies, it is proposed to show the current panorama on journalism, making a parallel between past and present. of the journalist's office and the media. Which is intended to reveal how Twitter, as a new platform and tool has revolutionized journalism and how to exercise it in Colombia. The work projects a relationship in the theories of the authors about communication and journalism with the investigation of journalists who work today and move in different media and companies, to further demonstrate that change that has produced innovation and technology in the journalism. All this focusing attention on Twitter, the social network that allows not only journalists to report on the facts, but that anyone on the planet can communicate about different events that take place in real time. Through interviews with communicators who currently practice the profession in television channels, the journalistic benefits of using this tool and the change that has occurred in the media and journalism since 2012 are measured. With a balance and comparison of a professional who uses Twitter and one that does not, also aims to analyze the advantages and disadvantages that participation in this social network brings, such as the dangers and risks that a journalist has when taking information and data from microblogging. So it is intended to demonstrate that change with the arrival of the twitter to Colombia
