Sede Bogotá., ) Avilez Ortiz, Angelina de la Cruz; García Meza, Cristina Isabel; Pino Mosquera, Eucaria; Rodríguez Celis, Harold GermánThe research proposal seeks to strengthen reading and writing from the family context, attending to cognitive processes of attention, perception and short and long-term memory. The theoretical reference bases four essential aspects such as reading comprehension, writing production, cognitive processes and the family context. Mixed approach, supported by the descriptive and correlational type of research, adopting a sequential explanatory design (DEXPLIS), which collects and analyzes quantitative information, followed by the collection and evaluation of qualitative information. The survey, the diagnostic test, a BANETA test and the semi-structured observation were applied as instruments to account for the categories and variables addressed. The study identified deficiencies in the level of attention, perception and memory in most of the students, alluding to the low existence in the ability to inhibit distracting stimuli, producing little concentration and memory retention, related to reading comprehension and textual production. However, the implementation of the proposal allowed directing teaching and learning at home, strengthening reading and writing skills, family support, linking authentic processes at home for learning and favoring interaction between students, parents and school. demonstrated through the correlation of the variables: perception and memory that is presented at a good level between Short-Term Memory, Consonants (Memory) and all the familiar and formative aspects of learning that seek literal, inferential understanding and critical.
