- ÍtemTransformación del plástico de un solo uso en bienes útiles con estudiantes de los grados sexto y septimo de la institución educativa Matilde Anaray del Municipio de Socha BoyacaAraque Martinez, William Humberto; Hurtado Carolina, Liliana Carolina; Rodriguez Cardozo, Sidney; Paeres Aguirre, Ana MariaThis project aims to contribute to the reduction of single-use plastics generated in the Educational Institution "Matilde Anaray" of the Municipality of Socha - Boyacá. While it is true, plastic packaging represents half of the plastic waste generated worldwide; many of them are discarded after only a few minutes have been used. When they are disposed of in landfills or the environment, they take up to thousands of years to decompose. Some of the causes of the inadequate disposal of this type of waste are related to the lack of environmental culture; despite campaigns and strategies carried out to counteract its inadequate classification; However, there is still an increase in the figures for the waste generated of this type, sent to the Terrazas del Porvenir landfill in the city of Sogamoso. The main "generators" of this waste are us, in large percentage, due to the low environmental culture of citizens. Based on the analysis of various circumstances in which the problem occurs, it is evident worldwide, the need to sensitize the community of the educational Institution and their families on the importance of formulating action plans that lead to the reduction of these waste. It seeks to reach the community in a didactic way by carrying out various activities to reduce the generation of this type of waste. Given the environmental problems caused by single-use plastics, it is proposed to make ecological bricks from PET bottles of different sizes, to reduce the volume of waste generated in the Institution and the community of the municipality of Socha, giving a second chance to these residues to turn them into useful goods such as fences to decorate the gardens of the institution and the municipality; decorative ornaments for the institution and the home, vertical gardens among others.
