Sede Bogotá., ) Abadía Bermúdez, Juan Carlos; Góngora Espinosa, Oscar Iván; Sandoval Rodriguez, WilsonColombia is the fourth producer of palm oil in the world and the first in America, with respect to the district of San Andrés Tumaco is the only municipality of Nariño that produces oil palm, which has 20,396 hectares distributed in 517 producers, which converts palm cultivation as one of the productive activities with the greatest socioeconomic impact for the district. In this study it is intended to analyze socioeconomic variables of small oil palm producers through different statistical methods, for this purpose the information was analyzed through descriptive statistics, then the producer groups were identified through multivariate analysis, using previously selected variables. As a result, three clusters were identified: C1, which grouped 56.46% of (83 producers); C2, 25.85% (38 producers), and C3, 17.69% (26 producers). Each group presented particular characteristics in terms of socioeconomic variables such as: area, sex, ethnicity, types of roads, economically active members, family wages used in the oil palm activity and net income per year.
