Sede Bogotá., ) Riaño Ubaté, Ángela Rocío; Nocua Sarmiento, Efraín AlonsoThis research was based on the deficiencies of the reading-writing competence specifically in the comprehension of readings and in the production of texts, evidenced through a diagnostic test and in the performance of the students registered in field journals. Thus, with the purpose of promoting the strengthening of this competence in 402 grade students of the San Pedro Claver District Educational Institution, the pedagogical proposal called: "Reading and writing in a virtual journey" is designed and executed with didactic strategies mediated by the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), including: Power Point, Word, Google Forms and virtual connection with App Zoom, WhatsApp and email. Virtual scenarios that offer the possibility of creating online courses, in transversality with the different areas of knowledge. Thus, to solve this problem, the research is framed within a qualitative approach of action research, which describes social realities and allows the analysis and interpretation of data. In this way, a pedagogical intervention was carried out in virtual learning environments, as a consequence of the pandemic caused by the SARS-CoV2 virus. However, as results of this research, significant advances were found in reading comprehension and in the production of texts, given the parallel between the results of the initial diagnostic rubric and the final diagnostic test. Finally, this study confirms the valuable and important contribution of ICT to strengthen reading-writing skills in fourth grade students, taking into account the affinity of boys and girls with this type of technological and interactive tools. Which also are facilitating resources of the teaching-learning processes, which contribute to the pedagogical practice being dynamic and the students developing skills so that their academic performance and school life improve significant
