La Unión de Indígenas Cubeos del Cuduyari zona UDIC – Mitú Vaupés se pone las pilas

Abstract

Deforestation, forest fires, illegal mining and pollution are factors that today attack the Colombian Amazon, the union of indigenous cubeos from the Caño Cuduyari UDIC area of the municipality of Mitú, department of Vaupés, today suffers the effects of pollution, they are communities of difficult access that lack public services, at present this area still does not have the service of electricity, drinking water, sewerage service and garbage collection, the latter being no more important than the others , but it is a great problem for the biodiversity and natural resources of the region, the indigenous peoples of this region are culturally rich and still preserve many of their traditions, but they have also acquired many westernized customs that have led them to make use of products commercials that were previously supplied by the nature of their environment. In this intervention proposal we will find a series of strategies and activities that will help the indigenous peoples of the UDIC area to conserve and protect the natural resources which are being affected by the necessary use of the communities of products with a high degree of toxicity such as batteries (batteries).
