This environmental intervention project implemented a pedagogical strategy seeking to raise awareness in the sixth and seventh graders from the Escuela Normal María Montessori school in Bogotá, Colombia. This strategy was about the importance of responsable consumption and the recognition of the management and final disposal of solid waste from the school feeding program (PAE) to reduce the impact generated by solid waste. Proper management of solid waste and the reuse of containers from school lunches supplied by the PAE were promoted to reduce the impact they generate daily trough this strategy. This proposal was implemented with sixth and seventh graders because of the need to promote an environmental culture through strategies that allow recognizing the importance of separating, classifying and reusing solid waste generated by the School Feeding Plan (PAE). The strategy had a phase of recognition of solid waste management, through instruments such as a survey, in addition to an interview, this was followed by the implementation phase. This one applied workshops with environmental content strategies to recognize the processes of separation classification and reuse of waste materials. Finally there was an evaluation phase to assess the impact of the strategy.
