Encaminándonos desde la escuela al cuidado del medio ambiente de la vereda El Brillante y a una vida saludable y sostenible

Abstract

The development of this intervention arose from the problems presented in the village of El Brillante in the municipality of Ataco Tolima, regarding environmental pollution. It is regular to observe the unfavorable management of solid waste, as these are thrown in different green areas without any control, which has caused mountains of waste that eventually spread and contaminate other areas. It is unfortunate to say, but part of this problem has been the oblivion on the part of the entities in charge of the collection of these wastes, moreover they do not even participate in the training or socialization of mechanisms that can avoid this damage and allow to face or take advantage of them from a sustainable point of view. To address the problem, qualitative research and the action research method were used as a basis, which allowed, through various research instruments, the collection of information on what individuals thought about the environment and its contamination, as well as the negative practices of waste. These also allowed individuals to participate actively and provide solutions to the objectives set, and to get involved or relate to each other. The most important part of the process was to generate a new awareness, new habits in each individual that by socializing their perceptions with the other members of the focus group and community resulted in new proposals or objectives to be achieved, to continue caring for and maintaining the achievements reached, and to continue working on the creation of tools for sustainable development.
