Sede Bogotá., ) Silva Rivera, Olga Lucia; Carreño Sayago, Uriel FernandoThe conservation of culture for the Pijao territories of the Department of Tolima is essential for their progress, and is related to ancestral knowledge. This research aims to design a pedagogical strategy for the integration of ancestral knowledge and the recovery of the identity of the Pijao culture in elementary school students of the Educational Institution. Anchique. Balsillas headquarters of the municipality of Natagaima-Tolima; with a descriptive type of research and a qualitative methodology. The process was carried out through several phases: Phase One: Preparatory, Phase Two: Field work, Phase Three: Analytical, Phase Four: Informative; according to the institutional diagnosis, three samples were worked with; a survey was applied to the students, a semi-structured interview to the traditional doctor and an interview to the elders of the community. The result and product of the present investigation has a theoretical and practical importance in terms of the learning of the cultural identity of the students; as for the diagnosis through the data collection techniques mentioned above for the three sample units, it is concluded that the children (students) consider important the conservation of the Pijao culture; With the design of the proposal with the students it was possible to transform the current reality through the human, cultural, historical and social dimensions; for the traditional doctor, he considers important the indigenous ancestral knowledge to make good use of the cultivation techniques through the use of organic fertilizer and for the elders the rescue of the ancestral knowledge is of great help so that the young people do not go out to the city but want their own pacha mama (land).
